Threave keeps sessions on your machine. A private, HTTPS connection lets your phone reach them so you can check progress, answer an agent, or start the next step.

Connect your phone

This guide uses Tailscale Serve to share your local Threave service only with devices allowed on your tailnet. Keep Threave on localhost; do not publish its control interface to the open internet.

  1. Run Threave on your computer

    Install Threave and start it on its default local address. Leave the service running while you want to access it from your phone.

  2. Connect both devices to Tailscale

    Install Tailscale on your computer and phone, sign in to the same tailnet, and enable HTTPS certificates in the tailnet settings.

  3. Share the local port privately

    From the computer running Threave, point Tailscale Serve at its local HTTP listener. Replace the port if you changed Threave’s default.

    tailscale serve --bg http://127.0.0.1:8080

    Tailscale prints a private HTTPS address ending in .ts.net. Open that address on your phone.

  4. Add Threave to your Home Screen

    On iPhone, use Safari’s Share menu and choose Add to Home Screen. On Android, use your browser’s Install app or Add to Home screen action.

Your machine stays in control.Session history and agent processes remain on the computer running Threave. Mobile access requires that computer and its private connection to be online. Threave does not provide a hosted sync account.
